Week 5 : Exciting Ideas
This week was pretty cut and dry at the start of it, write an abstract, clean some closets;noting new.
That was until this Thursday rolled around, presenting many possibilities to me. For starters, the robotics club (programming branch) and I were discussing the possibility of one unified project. A far cry from our usual tinkering, we would be planning out and creating a robot for one of several held competitions. There are multiple we could compete in, but we decided the first step is to be able to create a autonomous RC.
These are self driving RCs are the base to any of the competitions. We are hoping that what we learn from creating this basic self driving car, that it can be modified to for fill other procedures. In our case, it could either be turned into a fire fighter bot (detect fire and extinguish it) or a sumo bot (a competitive wrestling bot). Both of these bots are very dependent on their ability to see ,and use their range of motion effectively. Planning out pseudo code and sketching designs, we are hoping to at least compete in next year's competition with a refined build.
